I am getting deported from the country of my internship

What is deportation?

Definitions of deportation apply equally to nationals and foreigners. Nonetheless, in common usage, foreign nationals' expulsion is usually called deportation, whereas nationals’ expulsion is called extradition, banishment, exile, or penal transportation.

A person can be deported from a country because of visa issues. If the person does not have the proper papers to stay in the country, it makes them illegal in the country/ territory.

If this is the case, you need to be sure to contact your AIESEC Host and Home committees to support you during the process.

You have two options to deal with the procedure. You can fix the visa paperwork or leave the country altogether. It would mean you won't continue with your AIESEC exchange.

You can also continue your exchange; before it, you need to fix the visa problem by leaving the country for a short time. During this, AIESEC will support you on your way.

However, in case the deportation is happening due to the wrong visa type or lack of legitimate documents, there two possibilities:

In case the AIESEC Host committee has pursued any recommendation or advice that led to the misapplication of the visa type.

You have the right to compensation from AIESEC host/company according to the compensation policy written in the AIESEC Exchange Product Policy and the refund policy noted in the contract you signed with your AIESEC Egypt local committee.

In case this is a misapplication of the visa type by yourself.
